Software: Procreate, Photoshop, Cinema 4D

This image started as a 3D clip in Cinema 4D. I then brought it into Procreate to draw over sections and tweaked the composite in Photoshop. Digital prints are available here.

Media: Charcoal and Conté on Paper

Dimensions: 5’x3′

This was a great experience for me. 2 friends stood in as models and we were able to experiment with a range of poses. Original and digital reproductions are available upon request.

1up

Self-initiated

Software: Procreate

Media: Digital composite, Charcoal, Conté, Acrylic paint

I made a series with this image using the 1up mushroom from the Super Mario Bros video game as an icon for resurrection. I began with a few studies actually based off a 3D rendering. Then came the charcoal drawings and finally the digital painting. The composited image is actually part of the process. My friends were kind enough to come over and help me setup this scene for reference images. There are a few more images that show the model’s face but he’s a bit bashful and doesn’t want the whole interwebs to see his face and torso in their full glory. Le sigh. It is all our loss BUT digital prints are available upon request.

S33D

Self-initiated

Software: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Premiere

A short film telling the story of life in a 3D animated world. The concept was to show the biology of 3D animation by using playblasts to record the animation tools and objects which aren’t renderable. I wanted to capture that world that exists for the animator and give it life in the imagination of the audience.

Teevee Redux

Client: Angry Bear

Software: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Garageband, Photoshop, Premiere

The band Angry Bear wanted a short animation to play between sets during their concert. Time was very tight with this project. I turned to my frequent collaborators Adam Aguirre and Dan Spilatro to help with a quick production schedule. Using raw footage from a previous short film, Teevee, we made Teevee Redux a series of loops and scenes.
