Mosher Street Art

Short Documentary

Self-Initiated.

Role. Animation, Audio, Motion Graphics, Video Editing

Tools. Adobe After Effects, Garage Band, Photoshop, Premiere

A short film following the street artist Mosher painting a mural. It was great to team up with someone whose art I’d long admired. I met Mosher while working with Galerie F in Chicago documenting the process of local artists and creating promos for their shows. It came with a bonus: the Chicago edition of the Huffington Post covered it, which really made me day.

Goons World

Client: Goons

Software: After Effects, Garageband, Premiere

Short video flyers for the street artist Goons and his show at Galerie F. It was fantastic to collaborate with an artist of such eclectic tastes. The challenge was working remotely since Goons was in his studio across the country. But the internet can be a wonderful thing, so we relied on Dropbox to share photo and video assets. We spoke over the phone and email so I could make requests for the types of shots I needed. Goons has a distinct personality and visual style so to be successful with his audience we had to bring as much of that into the videos as possible. The soundtrack is actually Goons rapping.

Bathing in the Snow, AyOh

Client: AyOh

Software: After Effects, Premiere

The band AyOh approached me to make a music video for them using one of the songs on their upcoming album. The challenge was to deliver a high quality visual experience while working with a modest budget and short amount of time. We had 2 days of photography and a 3 man crew. Together we put out a video that I think captures the bittersweet moment behind the lyrics.

A Cause de iPods

Self-initiated

Software: Final Cut Pro

A short editing challenge to create a stealomatic; a short film made entirely of found media.

Teevee

Self-initiated

Software: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Garageband, Photoshop, Premiere

A short film experimenting with loops and composited images. The story of the inner workings of robot in his stop motion world. Music provided by Dj Monkey Virus.

S33D

Self-initiated

Software: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Premiere

A short film telling the story of life in a 3D animated world. The concept was to show the biology of 3D animation by using playblasts to record the animation tools and objects which aren’t renderable. I wanted to capture that world that exists for the animator and give it life in the imagination of the audience.

Killer, Blue Redder

Client: Blue Redder

Software: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Garageband, Photoshop, Premiere

The electro pop musician Blue Redder approached me to make a music video. It was a great opportunity to further experiment with my love for loop animation. I recorded Blue performing his song Killer. I used that one piece of footage to create all the animated assets in the film. For social media I designed this ad for the event.

Teevee Redux

Client: Angry Bear

Software: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Garageband, Photoshop, Premiere

The band Angry Bear wanted a short animation to play between sets during their concert. Time was very tight with this project. I turned to my frequent collaborators Adam Aguirre and Dan Spilatro to help with a quick production schedule. Using raw footage from a previous short film, Teevee, we made Teevee Redux a series of loops and scenes.
